Prince George’s County Police are investigating the death of a man found unresponsive near Rhode Island Avenue Wednesday morning as a homicide.
At about 6 a.m., police found the man at the 8700 block of Rhode Island Avenue. He had suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead on the scene, a UMD alert read.
In a news release Wednesday evening, police identified the victim as 33-year-old Ronnie Jacobs Jr. He had no fixed address, they wrote.
At this time, police do not believe the man had ties to the University of Maryland, a PGPD spokesperson wrote in an email.
PGPD detectives are trying to determine what led up to the man’s death, and ask those with information to call 1-866-411-TIPS.
