What to watch for the Terps: They beat UMBC last season

Last season, Maryland triumphed over UMBC in a Dec. 29 in-state clash. Anthony Cowan had an impressive all-around game against Baltimore County’s Retrievers, scoring 14 points to accompany nine rebounds and seven assists. Maryland struggled early against UMBC and trailed by six points early in the second half. However, the Terps were eventually able to pull away, earning a 66-45 win over a team that would end up in the NCAA tournament as a No. 16 seed.
