The Maryland field hockey team moved from up one spot to No. 3 in the NFHCA poll released Tuesday.
The Terps defeated two ranked opponents in the Big Ten/ACC Cup over the weekend, including then-No. 3 Duke. The Blue Devils fell to the No. 4 spot after their 4-3 loss Sunday.
Maryland also took down then-No. 13 Boston College 3-2 in a tight defensive matchup Friday in its first game of the weekend. The Eagles slid down to the No. 24 slot following losses to the Terps and Northwestern.
The team’s two wins moved it to 5-0 on the season, Maryland’s best since 2013. The Terps received two first place votes in this week’s poll.
After beginning the year against three unranked teams, the Terps’ schedule has toughened up to the usual standards of a coach Missy Meharg squad. After last week’s clash against ACC foes, Maryland hosts No. 12 Delaware and No. 17 Harvard for the Terrapin Invitational.
