Sister Jean is coming to Maryland.

Admittedly she’ll be in Baltimore and not College Park, but it’s still pretty exciting.

On Wednesday, Maryland men’s basketball announced its upcoming non-conference schedule for next season and there’s one team who immediately stood out: Loyola-Chicago.

The Ramblers became a classic Cinderella story during the 2018 NCAA tournament, making it to the Final Four as a No. 11 seed. The Ramblers knocked off Miami with a buzzer-beater in the first round of the tournament and quickly captured the hearts of the country as they went on their impressive run.

Loyola-Chicago’s journey also introduced the world to Sister Jean, a 98-year-old chaplain for the basketball team who almost instantly became beloved by the entire sports world.

Michigan ended Loyola-Chicago’s Cinderella story in the Final Four but even if they fell short, the 2018 Ramblers will forever be remembered in March Madness lore.

It is a bit of a disappointment we won’t get a chance to see what Xfinity Center would be like when Maryland is facing a team coming off a Final Four appearance, but it’s still pretty neat that the Terps scheduled an intriguing team coming off a famous season like Loyola-Chicago.
