Former Terp Kevin Huerter fulfilled a lifelong dream Thursday night when he got selected in the first round of the NBA draft.
Being a first-round pick is an incredible honor, and Huerter had a pretty impressive medley of friends and family there to celebrate his life-changing moment.

The reaction from his draft watch party was understandably very joyous and pretty loud. Probably the funniest part of the video is Andrew Terrell immediately showing up in the frame with his phone out to give Huerter a celebratory rub of the shoulder.
It also seems like Huerter probably spent several minutes hugging everyone in attendance for the celebration. He starts by hugging his mom and dad and then a wide medley of others including Dustin Clark, a former Maryland assistant coach who left this offseason.
Terrell wasn’t the only Terp there. This Instagram post shows that Travis Valmon, Reese Mona and Bruno Fernando were all also in attendance.
Of course, the most important thing about this party was the fact that Mark Turgeon wore a polo that was the same color as Huerter’s.

Getting drafted is an incredible experience, and Huerter had no shortage of people who were there to support him.
