Bruno Fernando is a poster dunk waiting to happen. He’s had his fair share of thunderous dunks this season, but this one might take the cake.

With just under seven minutes left in the first half against Rutgers, Corey Sanders became Fernando’s latest victim on a vicious alley-oop.

Coming out of a timeout, Fernando gets a nice back screen from Anthony Cowan and a perfect lob from Darryl Morsell for the one-handed slam. The play extended the Terps’ early lead, as they finished out the half up 31-19 on the Scarlet Knights.

Fernando was one of the many reasons for Maryland’s hot start, putting in nine points and 10 rebounds. Assuming he scores in the second half, it will be his third double-double of the season.

The Scarlet Knights weren’t able to slow down Fernando at all in the first half. Coming out of halftime they either have to double team him or just get out of the way.
