Maryland men’s lacrosse midfielder Connor Kelly is one of 11 players on USILA’s Player of the Year Watch List, the team announced in a news release Thursday. Kelly was among the six Big Ten players to be recognized.
Kelly, entering his final season in College Park, was one of Maryland’s most consistent offensive threats in 2017. He started all 19 games, posting a team-high 46 goals. He also recorded 21 ground balls and 11 assists.

Coach John Tillman’s team, ranked No. 1 in the preseason coaches poll, will turn to Kelly for offensive production again this season. Attackmen Matt Rambo and Colin Heacock scored a combined 70 goals to lift the Terps to a national championship last season, but both graduated last spring.
The Easton, Connecticut, native was named the Big Ten Tournament MVP last season. Inside Lacrosse and USILA both recognized Kelly as a first-team All-American in 2017.
