Who to watch for the Terps: Blair Watson
After a 2-2 start, Maryland has won its last 11 games, including its first two Big Ten matchups. Watson has played an integral role in that turnaround: In the Terps’ four four games, she shot 41.3 percent overall and 39.3 percent on 3-pointers; in the 11 games since then, she’s improved to 48.3 percent from the floor and 49.0 percent from deep. Coach Brenda Frese should continue to rely on the sophomore against a high-scoring Iowa squad.
Who to watch for the Hawkeyes: Megan Gustafson
Last year, Gustafson led Iowa with 18.3 points per game on 63.9 percent shooting from the floor. This year, the 6-foot-3 center has somehow gotten even better — she’s making 68.9 percent of her shots (second nationally) and racking up 22.5 points per game (seventh nationally). Forwards Brianna Fraser and Stephanie Jones will have their hands full trying to contain Gustafson.
