Maryland field hockey midfielder Lein Holsboer, defender Carrie Hanks and forward Linnea Gonzales were named to the NFHCA All-Mid Atlantic First Team on Monday, the team announced in a release.
Midfielder Madison Maguire, defender Bodil Keus and goalkeeper Sarah Holliday were second team members.
Holsboer guided Maryland’s attack in her final season with the Terps, leading them to the national championship game where they lost to No. 1 Connecticut. Holsboer scored 11 times — the second-most on the team — and recorded 15 assists. Holsboer took 38 shots on goal and played a key role setting up Maryland’s penalty corner attacks.
Gonzales scored 10 times and started every game.
Hanks anchored a backline that featured Keus, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, as well as Hannah Bond and Sophie Giezeman. Hanks’ Oct. 15 double-overtime goal against Penn State gave Maryland a 2-1 win.
Keus paced the Terps with 13 scores, while Maguire contributed nine conversions.
Holliday contained some of the conference’s most aggressive attacks, saving about 75 percent of the shots she faced. She allowed 1.4 goals per game.
