A new bar and grill is set to open in College Park this spring in the Cambria hotel, which is under construction on Route 1.

The College Park Grill will be an “all-American bar and grill” with a focus on simple, made-from-scratch food, owner Adam Greenberg said.

The menu will have about 11 entrees and five each of appetizers, salads, pizzas, sides and desserts, he said, adding the restaurant’s offerings will include chicken, steak, fish and ribs.

“It’s not a big menu, but most people would be able to find something to eat on there,” Greenberg said.

Target customers for College Park Grill are residents, professors and businesspeople, he said.

“Students are very welcome, but it’s going to be above the usual price-range of a usual student meal,” Greenberg said.

Greenberg said the average price of a whole meal for one person at the restaurant will be about $35 before tax and gratuity. The prices at College Park Grill are average compared to other bar and grills, he said, but more than the price point at Potomac Pizza or Bagels ‘n Grinds, both of which he also owns.

Potomac Pizza and Bagels ‘n Grinds opened underneath The Hotel at the University of Maryland earlier this fall, along with Old Maryland Grill and later Kapnos Taverna.

Southern Management Corporation, which built The Hotel and is also building the Cambria hotel, offered Greenberg a spot for his new bar and grill, Greenberg said.

Greenberg said College Park Grill is working to open with the Cambria hotel in late April or the first week of May.

This will be Greenberg’s first bar and grill restaurant and the first College Park Grill location, he said. The design has been in the works for the past two years, he said.

There will be a parking garage inside the hotel and nearly 200 seats inside the restaurant, Greenberg said, as well as a completely open kitchen and live music every night.

“It’s going be fun but elegant,” Greenberg said.
