Maryland field hockey midfielder Kyler Greenwalt was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday. It’s the second time Greenwalt has received the award this season.
Greenwalt has started eight games and appeared in 17, contributing to a Terps attack that has surged lately. She has notched five goals and an assist.

Greenwalt helped the Terps defeat No. 3 Virginia on Oct. 17. She scored twice and added an assist Sunday in Maryland’s 6-0 win against No. 21 Rutgers.
The Gambrills native first earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week Sept. 18 after scoring two goals in the Terps’ win against Bucknell.
