COLUMBUS, Ohio — Sophomore defensive back Antwaine Richardson did not travel with the Maryland football team for the Terps’ 62-14 loss at Ohio State on Saturday due to a minor injury he suffered at the end of the Minnesota game last weekend, coach DJ Durkin said.
“We’ll see how he is this week,” Durkin said. “He won’t be out for an extended period of time, but he’ll be out for a little while.”
Richardson was placed on concussion protocol after being carted off the field in Maryland’s season opener at Texas on Sept. 2. He missed the following game against Towson, but returned to face Central Florida and Minnesota.
The Delray Beach, Florida, native has accumulated seven tackles and a pass defended over four games, starting two games. His best performance came against Texas when he notched six tackles.
Richardson was a three-star prospect in 2016 and appeared in two games as a freshman before taking an expanded role this season.
