University of Maryland student Mason Jayne died in a car accident in Houston on Friday.
Jayne was a senior major and member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at this university.
The crash occurred at 1900 Holcombe Blvd. shortly after 2 a.m. Friday, according to a Houston Police Department press release, and Jayne died at the scene.
Jayne was traveling eastbound in a Toyota FJ Cruiser when the car swayed off the single lane into westbound lanes of traffic, the report said. The car then veered off the road and hit a concrete pillar outside of a business.
Houston police are investigating the fatal crash.
