The Maryland football team added wide receiver Rayshad Lewis, the son of former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, via transfer from Utah State on Monday.
In his Twitter announcement, Rayshad Lewis wrote, “New chapter… You ain’t gotta understand just sit back and watch.”
Lewis hauled in 40 catches for 469 yards as a freshman at Utah State after arriving at the program as a 247 Sports two-star Class of 2016 recruit. He also scored two touchdowns last season.
He’ll have to sit out the upcoming campaign due to NCAA transfer rules, meaning he won’t impact a crowded 2017 Maryland receiving unit that includes D.J. Moore, DJ Turner, Taivon Jacobs and Jacquille Veii.
