As final ballots are being counted, Montgomery County’s voter count put former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s popular vote lead against President-elect Donald Trump over the 1 million mark, Cook Political Report’s House Editor Dave Wasserman tweeted on Tuesday.

Clinton received 20,000 more votes and Trump received 3,000 more votes on Tuesday in the county, with 99.25 percent of the county’s precincts counted, according to unofficial election results. The total votes so far for the county are 329,920 for Clinton, which is roughly 74 percent of the vote, and 87,301 for Trump, or about 19.5 percent. A total of 442,862 ballots were cast in the county for the 2016 election.
The vote count for Clinton in the county beat President Obama’s in 2012, which was 323,400.
These voter results come at a time when many are questioning the fairness of the electoral college, which gives each state a number of electoral votes equal to the number of that state’s representatives in Congress. Clinton won the state of Maryland’s 10 electoral votes. Alternatively, the popular vote is based on each individual person’s vote.
Nationally, Clinton is leading with 62,568,373 votes to Trump’s 61,336,159. In this state, Clinton currently has a total of 1,584,263 votes, while Trump has 917,015. The third party votes in Maryland for Jill Stein and Gary Johnson add up to 151,503 so far.
