The Philadelphia native is the No. 38 cornerback in Pennsylvania and No. 183 in the country, according to 247sports. Bennett chose the Terps over Temple and Pittsburgh, the other two programs in his top-three list in August.
Virginia Tech and five other schools also offered Bennett a scholarship, but he opted for coach DJ Durkin’s squad.
The 6-foot-2, 196-pound Bennett is the third cornerback and 21st commit in Maryland’s 2017 class.
