University of Maryland Police is investigating reports of a vehicle driving around campus and shooting students with a BB gun on Sunday night, according to University Police spokeswoman Sgt. Rosanne Hoaas.
The first incident was reported at 7:30 p.m. on Paint Branch Drive near parking lot 11B, according to a UMD Alert. A male student reported that while walking in this area, he was struck by a BB pellet, Hoaas said.
A second shooting was reported at 8:30 p.m., Hoaas said. A male student reported that he was also struck by a BB pellet about an hour earlier, while walking between Stadium Drive Garage and Ellicott Dining Hall.
At 11:50 p.m., a third victim contacted University Police to report that she was struck by a BB pellet while walking along Paint Branch Drive near the Kim Engineering Building at 7:20 p.m., Hoaas said.
No one was injured, Hoaas said. The vehicle associated with the shootings was described as dark with two or four doors.
