Former Maryland star Dez Wells didn’t pass his medical exams for Tigers Tubingen, and the German Basketball Bundesliga team voided his contract.
Here’s what the team tweeted about it:
Nach den Ergebnissen der medizinischen Eingangsuntersuchungen wurde der Vertrag mit Dez Wells wieder aufgelöst. Wir wünschen Dez alles Gute.

Loose translation: “According to the results of the medical entrance examinations, Dez Wells’ contract has been terminated. We wish him the best.”
Wells had signed with the team in July and was set to play in the same league as Evan Smotrycz, his former Maryland teammate.
Where Wells will go now is anyone’s guess. He played in the NBA D-League last season but probably was set to make a lot more money in Germany.
