Head Coach Sasho Cirovski speaks to his players after an eventful 3-1 Terp victory over Providence on Nov 24, 2013 at Ludwig Field.

The Terrapins men’s soccer team released its schedule for the 2014 season today.

Coach Sasho Cirovski’s team begins play on Aug. 29 in Louisville before opening Ludwig Field for the first time three days later to host Coastal Carolina.

The Terps, who are returning nine starters, will then play their first match as part of the Big Ten conference on Sept. 12 in Michigan. Their first home conference match is Sept. 19 against Michigan State.

The Terps parlayed a late season winning streak into an ACC title and an appearance in the NCAA final last season, marking an improvement from the year before when they fell to Georgetown in penalty kicks in the NCAA semifinal.

They will have finally have an opportunity to avenge that loss when they welcome Georgetown to College Park on Sept. 30.

A few weeks later the Terps head to Bloomington, Indiana, to challenge defending Big Ten champion Indiana on Oct. 19.

The regular season will conclude on Nov. 5 when the Terps travel to Rutgers to challenge midfielder Mael Corboz’s former squad.

“Once again, we have put together a great schedule that will challenge our team and excite our fans,” Cirovski said in a release. “We have great respect for all of the Big Ten teams and are really looking forward to seeing new places and creating new rivalries as we enter this new chapter for our great University. In addition, we have great balance throughout our schedule and some local flavor as we will take on three programs that are among the top in the nation.”
