Roommate fight breaks out over overnight guest
The argument began around 10:40 p.m. after one of the students had a male overnight guest without informing her roommate, in violation of the roommate agreement they signed at the beginning of the semester.
One of the female students, 18, pushed the other one, causing minor injuries. The victim’s clothes were also thrown all over the floor of their first-floor room and her roommate left a note saying she had gone out.
An ongoing chain of arguments led up to the incident, police said. The victim called the officers because she did not feel safe. Police met with the building’s resident director and advised that the two roommates be separated and that both residents be spoken to about the incident.
Bathroom confrontation
Two unknown men followed a 22-year-old male university student into a bathroom in Stamp Student Union last Friday and grabbed the student’s arm, but he got away unharmed.
The victim said the two suspects looked about 19 to 23 years old and did not appear to be students, police said. They asked the student if he worked at the university and then asked him if he had any money.
The victim, who lives in College Park, answered no to both questions and then promptly left the bathroom and went into a busy hallway, police said. Officers were called to the scene and escorted the victim around the Student Union to look for the suspicious individuals, but were not able to identify anyone.
