Midfielder Kelly McPartland maneuvers around the back of the goal during the Terps’ 19-3 victory over William and Mary on March 3, 2014 in College Park.

The Terrapins women’s lacrosse team will play Penn in the second round of the NCAA tournament Sunday at noon at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex.

The Quakers defeated Canisius, 9-4, Friday afternoon in the first round of the tournament on this university’s campus to advance to the second round to play the Terps.

The Terps played Penn earlier this season in Philadelphia where they topped the Quakers, 15-5. In the victory, six Terps recorded at least two goals to pace the offense, and goalkeeper Abbey Clipp made six saves to limit the Penn offense.

During Thursday’s practice, midfielder Kelly McPartland said the Terps planned to attend the game to watch their upcoming opponent. The Terps will use Saturday to specifically game plan for the Quakers and assign matchups, she said.
