Terrapins football quarterback Perry Hills has lost his starting job after two weeks in which he went 27-for-51 for 306 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.
The Terps released their updated two-deep depth chart Monday afternoon with quarterback Caleb Rowe listed as the new starter. Daxx Garman, a fifth-year transfer from Oklahoma State who previously was the third-string option, is now listed as the backup.
Rowe, who came into Saturday’s game in the fourth quarter for Hills, threw two interceptions in three pass attempts. Barring any changes before this Saturday’s game against USF, Rowe will make his first start since Oct. 26, 2013.
Other changes in the Terps’ depth chart include promotions for wide receivers D.J. Moore and Taivon Jacobs, who are now listed as starters over Amba Etta-Tawo and Malcom Culmer, respectively.
The offensive line saw no changes to the starting lineup, but Derwin Gray, who returned to practice last week after recovering from a torn left labrum, is now listed as the backup at left tackle.
There were no changes for the defensive starters.
