An incident involving an indecent exposure occurred Saturday between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. on Rossborough Lane by Leonardtown Building #247, according to a University Police safety notice.

A black truck approached a female University of Maryland employee as she was walking on a sidewalk along Paint Branch Parkway. The driver, described as a male between 30 and 35 years old, asked the victim in Spanish if she needed a ride, the notice said.

The woman declined and continued walking south onto Greenhouse Drive, losing sight of the vehicle. But as she walked south on Rossborough Lane near Leonardtown Building #247, she saw the vehicle again.

The vehicle pulled up next to her and the driver exposed himself, and the victim told the driver she was going to call 911. She took out her cell phone and ran south to a safe location on Rossborough Lane.

The suspect was described as having dark, medium‐length hair and was wearing jeans at the time of the incident. There are no further details about the vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation by University Police.

“We are checking in that area to see if we can find any more information,” said University Police spokeswoman Sgt. Roseanne Hoaas, who added that anyone who could have more information should notify police.
