Former Terrapin men’s soccer player Chris Lancos signed a contract through July 2007 to play professionally in Germany for FC Kaiserslautern.

The four-year starter – who is currently overseas and could not be reached – will compete in the German 3rd Division (Regionalliga), which is an under-23 team.

Lancos’ signing comes about two weeks after four of his former teammates were selected in the MLS SuperDraft, headlined by Hermann Trophy winner Jason Garey as the third overall pick. Lancos was later taken in the MLS supplemental draft by Real Salt Lake.

Along with fellow seniors Michael Dello-Russo and Kenney Bertz – who both were selected in the SuperDraft – Lancos provided the 2005 National Champions with stellar backline play.
