John Stertzer, Midfielder, Real Salt Lake

2014 stats: 4 GP, 1 GS, 108 minutes, 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 shots, 1 yellow card

Skinny: In his second season with Real Salt Lake, Stertzer made his first career start Wednesday against the Columbus Crew. He played all 90 minutes and committed one foul in a game that ended in a draw. On Saturday against the Portland Timbers, though, Stertzer was not used.

Marc Burch, Defender, Colorado Rapids

2014 stats: 9 GP, 8 GS, 729 minutes, 0 goals, 2 assists, 3 shots, 1 yellow card

Skinny: Burch made his first start since May 17 when the Rapids squared off against the Chicago Fire on Wednesday. He played the full 90 minutes, and the game ended in a scoreless draw. Burch did not play when the Rapids traveled to play FC Dallas later in the week.

A.J. DeLaGarza, Defender, Los Angeles Galaxy

2014 stats: 11 GP, 11 GS, 972 minutes 0 goals, 0 assists, 2 shots, 1 yellow card


Skinny: DeLaGarza made his 11th start of the season Sunday when the Galaxy hosted Chivas USA. Erick Torres beat DeLaGarza and the other defenders in the 20th minute to give Chivas USA a 1-0 advantage. But Gyasi Zardes scored 15 minutes later for the Galaxy to the tie the game. The game ended in a draw and the Galaxy extended their unbeaten streak to four games.

Omar Gonzalez, Defender, Los Angeles Galaxy

2014 stats: 6 GP, 6 GS, 495 minutes, 0 goals, 1 assist, 3 shots, 0 yellow cards

Skinny: Gonzalez is preparing for the 2014 FIFA World Cup with the United States men’s national team, so he has not played for the Galaxy since May 3. When the United States played Nigeria on Saturday in its final tune-up game, Gonzalez saw limited time. He entered in the 80th minute for Jozy Altidore, who scored both goals in the United States’ 2-1 victory. The US begins World Cup play Thursday against Ghana.

Clarence Goodson, Defender, San Jose Earthquakes

2014 stats: 9 GP, 9 GS, 810 minutes, 0 goals, 1 assist, 8 shots, 2 yellow card.

Skinny: Goodson played 90 minutes and attempted one shot when the Earthquakes played Toronto FC Saturday. In the 66th minute, Goodson received a yellow card for a hand ball, but Toronto FC couldn’t capitalize. The Earthquakes went on to lose the game, however, and sit in second-to-last place in the Western Conference standings.

Zac McMath, Goalkeeper, Philadelphia Union

2014 stats: 16 GP, 16 GS, 1440 minutes, 3 shutouts, 44 saves, 27 goals against

Skinny: After posting a shutout May 31, MacMath allowed three goals and made one save Saturday against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The Whitecaps scored two goals on MacMath in the first half, but the Union netted the next three goals to take a 3-2 lead. In the 80th minute, Macmath was given a yellow card when he took down Derrick Mattocks in the box. The referee awarded Mattocks with a penalty kick, which he scored on to tie the game. The game ended in a 3-3 tie, and MacMath has allowed 12 goals in his past four games.

Robbie Rogers, Midfielder, Los Angeles Galaxy

2014 stats: 3 GP, 1 GS, 157 minutes, 0 goals, 1 assist, 1 shot, 0 yellow cards

Skinny: On Sunday against Chivas USA, Rodgers made his first start of the season at right back. He played all 90 minutes and took one shot.

Chris Seitz, Goalkeeper, FC Dallas

2014 stats: 10 GP, 10 GS, 900 minutes, 1 shutout, 34 saves, 16 goals against

Skinny: FC Dallas beat the Colorado Rapids 3-2 Saturday, but Seitz did was not in net. Instead, Raúl Fernandez made his sixth start of the season at goalie.

Graham Zusi, Midfielder, Sporting Kansas City

2014 stats: 9 GP, 9 GS, 795 minutes, 1 goal, 4 assists, 11 shots, 0 yellow cards

Skinny: Like Gonzalez, Zusi is on national team duty. Against Nigeria Saturday, Zusi replaced Alejandro Bedoya in the 60th minute.

Patrick Mullins, Midfielder, New England Revolution

2014 stats: 7 GP, 7 GS, 540 minutes, 4 goals, 0 assists, 16 shots, 0 yellow cards

Skinny: Mullins made his sixth consecutive start of the season Sunday against the New York Red Bulls, but Keyln Rowe replaced him to start the second half. Mullins took two shots, one of which was on goal, but it was only the second time this season where Mullins started the game and didn’t play the full 90 minutes.
