A student was struck by a car while crossing Mowatt Lane Thursday afternoon and transported to the hospital.
The student sustained minor injuries around noon after being hit by a grey 2005 Honda while crossing the street across from the Hillel Jewish Center, said University Police spokesman Capt. Marc Limansky. A student police aide called in the accident at around 12:12 p.m.
Limansky said police believe the driver of the vehicle is also a student. Officers are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
Police shut down the area around Van Munching and Mowatt Lane to respond to the accident for about 30 minutes, but it has since been reopened.
