American Apparel – Dov Charney’s clothing company known for its racy ad campaigns – is ready to fight dirty with Woody Allen. The famed auteur sued American Apparel last year for $10 million for using his image in a series of unauthorized billboards. And what, pray tell, is American Apparel’s defense? That Allen’s involvement in widely publicized sex scandals has cheapened his stature on its own accord.
Gondry launches new website
Although Michel Gondry (Be Kind Rewind) hasn’t had a whole lot to say about his pre-production work on Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s The Green Hornet, we do have some genuinely cool Gondry news to report. The filmmaker’s brand spanking new website (www.MichelGondry.com) offers a second installment of the director’s music video work on DVD. Even cooler: for about $20, you can pay Gondry to make a portrait sketch based off of a photo. Talk about Eternal Sunshine of the Inflated Ego.
