Terrapins football offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo left the program to accept a position on an NFL coaching staff, the team announced Wednesday.
DeGuglielmo’s addition to the coaching staff was announced last Thursday.
DeGuglielmo said in a release that “because of family issues this is an opportunity that I could not pass up.” Coach Randy Edsall also said the search for DeGuglielmo’s replacement will begin immediately.
“Dave is a great coach who brings a wealth of experience and will be a valued asset at the next level,” Edsall said. “We are honored that NFL teams pursue members of our coaching staff as we feel this is a complement to our program.”
“I was excited about the direction of the Maryland football program and coaching in the Big Ten,” DeGuglielmo said. “I was looking forward to working with Randy and couldn’t have been more confident in where this program is heading.”
According to a department release, any other announcement regarding DeGuglielmo’s future will come from the NFL team.
