thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is traditionally a time for gathering around the table and celebrating with family. But if you aren’t one to spend hours in the kitchen, Washington has you covered. There are plenty of Thanksgiving dinner offerings in the city if slaving over a turkey isn’t for you. Here are some of the options around the city for Thanksgiving dinner:
1. 701 Restaurant
701 Restaurant has rich Thanksgiving flavors throughout its $49-per-person menu, which includes a first course, an entree and a dessert. For a traditional pick, choose the Turkey Duo, which comes with sweet potato puree, stuffing, cranberry jam and gravy. For a more unique choice (maybe turkey and stuffing does get old), try the cauliflower showarma, with sesame hummus, yogurt and lavash. Finish the meal with a classic pumpkin or pecan pie, or instead go for the chocolate cremeux with a mango whipped cream and fresh berries.

2. Nage
Nage’s Thanksgiving Day Dinner Buffet brings traditional Thanksgiving tastes with a Southern twist. For $45 per person, try a few or all of these Southern-infused classics, including Cajun deep-fried turkey, brown sugar-glazed ham, cornbread-andouille stuffing, buttermilk mashed potatoes and, of course, braised collard greens, among others. Top it off with banana pudding or a rich maple bourbon pecan pie.

3. Blue Duck Tavern
The Blue Duck Tavern will craft a Thanksgiving meal using local fresh, seasonal ingredients this year for $110 per person. Enjoy warm roasted pumpkin cavatelli with brown butter, roasted pear and sage or an apple cider-glazed roasted Turkey with brown gravy, among other seasonal selections. Indulge in rich sides such as corn bread stuffing, crispy brussel sprouts and potato puree. They also have flavorful mocktails, such as the pumpkin cobbler, which comes with pumpkin syrup and cream.

4. Rasika
Rasika will bring their traditional Indian flavors to Thanksgiving this year with a specialty turkey salli — a turkey cooked with apricots, straw potatoes and basmati rice. The turkey dish is $16, and the complete a la carte menu is also available on Thanksgiving Day. Switch up your Thanksgiving palette and enjoy Rasika classics such as lucknowi bhuna lamb with black cardamom, nutmeg and cloves or the duck vindaloo with a peri-peri masala, pearl onions and coconut rice. Skip the mashed potatoes and instead opt for warm, crusty naan. There is no pecan pie here; instead, try the avocado banana chaat with cumin, red chili powder, tamarind and a date chutney.

They also have two unique turkey dishes including the maple lawn farm’s turkey breast with mushroom stuffing, sweet potato, vegetable fricassee, cranberry marmalade and gravy, as well as the “Earth & Ocean,” a roasted turkey and butter poached lobster with a lobster emulsion, sautéed spinach and celery root. For dessert, don’t forget to try their Pear Pavlova, with a brown sugar meringue, red wine-poached pear, candied ginger ice cream and hazelnut.
