Forward Charles Mitchell
Former Terrapins men’s basketball forward Charles Mitchell, who recently left the program to be closer to his home in Atlanta, has committed to transfer to Georgia Tech, a source told ESPN reporter John Goodman.
In essence, the Terps swapped Mitchell for former Georgia Tech forward Robert Carter Jr., who announced his intention to transfer to the Terps last week. Mitchell averaged 6.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game last year for the Terps while Carter scored 11.4 points and grabbed 8.4 rebounds per game in Yellow Jackets’ jersey.
Of the five Terps that transferred this offseason, Mitchell is the second to land with an ACC team. Guard Seth Allen transferred to Virginia Tech last month.
Former Terps center Shaquille Cleare signed with Texas, guard Roddy Peters committed to transfer to South Florida and guard Nick Faust still hasn’t landed with a team after revoking his commitment to Oregon State when coach Craig Robinson was fired.
