The Running Man Challenge craze has blown over, but Maryland basketball’s Jared Nickens and Jaylen Brantley’s time in the spotlight hasn’t.
An athletic department release announced Nickens and Brantley have invitations to the ESPYs, a national sports awards ceremony that will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on July 13. They’ll fly to California the day before the 2016 awards, which will be hosted by John Cena.
Off the basketball court, Nickens and Brantley have managed to achieve a somewhat impressive level of notoriety, purely through dancing and posting videos on Snapchat and Instagram. With an appearance on The Ellen Show under their belt and an upcoming red carpet walk, I’d say the two are on the brink of becoming D-List celebrities.
They’re bound to do something absurd and hilarious on the ESPYs red carpet, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully they can top this:
