Brett Cecil, LHP, Toronto Blue Jays
2016 stats: 0-5, 5.23 ERA, 9 strikeouts, 3 walks, 17 hits, 10.1 innings pitched
Skinny: Cecil remains on the disabled list recovering from a torn lat. He has not pitched in a game since May 14, but threw a simulated game Saturday for the first time since his injury.
Justin Maxwell, OF, Pawtucket Red Sox (Boston Red Sox Triple-A affiliate)
2016 stats: .222 average, .316 on-base percentage, 5 HR, 24 RBI, 54 strikeouts, 23 walks
Skinny: Maxwell had an average week at the plate for Pawtucket, going 3-15 with two runs and a walk in four games. He tacked on two RBIs in a win Sunday.
Adam Kolarek, LHP, Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay Rays Triple-A affiliate)
2016 stats (AAA): 0-1, 3.44 ERA, 17 K, 9 BB, 10 H, 18.1 IP
Skinny: Kolarek threw two scoreless innings against the Buffalo Bisons on June 15. He gave up one hit and a walk but picked up two strikeouts. On June 19, he recorded one strike out and one walk in 1.1 innings.
Jose Cuas, 3B, Brevard County Manatees (Milwaukee Brewers High-A affiliate)
2016 stats: .193 AVG, .277 OBP, 2 HR, 12 RBI, 62 K, 18 BB
Skinny: Cuas is still trying to get on track at the plate this season, and he had a promising week as he went 4-13 in four games. Against the Palm Beach Cardinals June 15, Cuas hit a three-run home run in addition to adding a walk and a single.
Jake Stinnett, RHP, Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Chicago Cubs High-A affiliate)
2016 stats: 5-3, 3.78 ERA, 53 K, 21 BB, 64.1 IP
Skinny: Stinnett threw seven shutout innings in his start against the Frederick Keys June 15. The right-hander gave up eight hits and walked two but also struck out seven in his fifth win of the season.
LaMonte Wade, OF, Cedar Rapids Kernels (Minnesota Twins Single-A affiliate)
2016 stats: .280 AVG, .410 OBP, 4 HR, 27 RBI, 27 K, 44 BB
Skinny: Wade’s performance this season earned him a spot in the Midwest League All-Star Game and Home Run Derby. But he struggled through the worst stretch of his season as he is 0-for-19 in the last five games.
Jake Drossner, LHP, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Milwaukee Brewers Single-A affiliate)
2016 stats: 1-5, 4.35 ERA, 44 K, 25 BB, 41.1 IP
Skinny: Drossner picked up a three-inning save June 16 against the Beloit Snappers. He allowed two hits and two walks but struck out three en route to his first save of the season.
Brandon Lowe, 2B, Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay Rays Single-A affiliate)
2016 stats: .244 AVG, .364 OBP, 0 HR, 18 RBI, 44 K, 29 BB
Skinny: Lowe managed one hit this week, but he scored twice and had two RBIs June 16 against the Fort Wayne TinCaps. On June 19, Lowe went 0-for-1 from the plate, scoring one run and adding an RBI with five walks.
Zach Morris, LHP, Lakewood BlueClaws (Philadelphia Phillies Single-A affiliate)
2016 stats: 3-1, 3.15 ERA, 27 K, 15 BB, 34.1 IP
Skinny: In his 1.1 innings against the Hagerstown Suns June 15, Morris’ only blemish was a walk. He retired the other four batters he faced and did not surrender a run. Four days later, Morris threw two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out four.
