A woman required resuscitation and medical transportation near the University Health Center today at about 12:15 p.m., according to witnesses.
David McBride, the health center’s director, confirmed via email that “a person was transported via ambulance to the hospital for a medical emergency.”
“I watched the paramedics try to resuscitate her for a good seven minutes,” a student witness said. “They hooked her up to something — I’m assuming an AED — to shock her. Looked like she was still unresponsive, but I’m not totally sure.”
Health center officials would not provide additional information on the woman’s condition and whether she is a University of Maryland student.
