A female University of Maryland student collided with a University Police Auxiliary vehicle Monday night while riding her bike at the intersection of Mowatt Lane and Preinkert Drive, according to student witnesses in the area.
The incident took place outside of Commons 7 at about 8:46 p.m., and the student was in fair condition when she was transported to a local hospital, said police spokeswoman Sgt. Rosanne Hoaas.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the bicyclist ran into the vehicle, Hoaas said. Police are reviewing area cameras to confirm what exactly took place.
