Ever since the Maryland men’s basketball team lost to Kansas in the Sweet Sixteen, guards Jaylen Brantley and Jared Nickens have been lighting up the dance floor.
Wednesday brought one of their latest and most ridiculous stunts yet.
At first, it appears that an innocent Nickens is simply strolling through the locker room, helping out the team managers by moving a bin of dirty clothes, but of course that’s not the case as Brantley emerges from the bin and starts breaking it down.
Then on Thursday, they topped it with a compilation video of them dancing in several different College Park locations.
We’ve seen this dance before. It’s been in almost all of their recent videos, actually.
That song you’re hearing in almost every one of their videos is “My Boo” by Ghostown DJs. No, we hadn’t heard of it before either.
Brantley has posted six dancing videos in the past week, while Nickens has uploaded five. The two had star turns during the team’s performance at this year’s Maryland Madness, and figure to be the two lead dancers once again next season.
And according to SB Nation, this craze has been sweeping college basketball. Virginia Tech guard Seth Allen, who transferred from Maryland in 2014, posted a video of him dancing to the same song, and Villanova’s Mikal Bridges and Marquette’s Traci Carter got in on it as well.
This is shaping up to be quite an entertaining offseason.
