INDIANAPOLIS — With about 11 minutes remaining in the first half Friday night Terrapins men’s basketball center Diamond Stone brought the crowd at Bankers Field House to their feet with a posterizing dunk.
The Terps, who had a double-bye in the Big Ten Tournament, were up leading by four points against Nebraska in the quarterfinals when guard Melo Trimble found a streaking Stone. The freshman phenom threw down a dunk over Nebraska freshman Jack McVeigh.

He wasn’t done. A few minutes later forward Robert Carter Jr., wide-open on the left block, tossed an alley-oop to Stone. Nebraska had lost track of Stone after he set a screen for forward Jake Layman.
Clearly Maryland should just do this on every possession.https://t.co/tFSlqu88t0 — Ryan Connors (@ryanconnors11) March 12, 2016
Then, with time winding down in the first half, Trimble found Stone once more for an easy dunk. Stone finished the first half with 10 points.
