The No. 3-seed Terrapins men’s basketball will play No. 11-seed Nebraska on Friday night in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis.
The Cornhuskers, who upset No. 6-seed Wisconsin, 70-58, on Thursday night, will be playing their third game in three days. In the opening round of the tournament Wednesday, Nebraska topped No. 14-seed Rutgers, 89-72.
During the regular season, the Terps and Cornhuskers met once Feb. 3 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Coach Mark Turgeon’s team held off Nebraska over the final minutes for a 70-65 victory behind 20 points from guard Melo Trimble.
If the Terps advance past Nebraska, they will play the winner of No. 2-seed Michigan State and No. 7-seed Ohio State at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Terps, who have lost four of their past six games, have placed an emphasis on defense heading into the tournament.
