Terrapins football redshirt junior Amba Etta-Tawo plans to transfer to another program this offseason, the wide receiver announced Tuesday afternoon on Twitter.
“I couldn’t be more thankful for my time here and all the bonds I built,” Etta-Tawo wrote in a note he posted to his Twitter account.
Etta-Tawo would be eligible to play immediately as a graduate transfer. He had 61 receptions, 938 receiving yards and three touchdowns in three years with the Terps.
This past season, Etta-Tawo was fourth on the Terps in receptions (20) and fifth in receiving yards (216). His best season was 2013, when he recorded 31 catches for 500 yards as a redshirt freshman.
Out of the Terps’ top seven pass-catchers this past season, who all had more than 150 receiving yards, Etta-Tawo is the only one who isn’t expected to return. The Terps also added two wide receivers Feb. 3 on National Signing Day, including four-star recruit Tino Ellis.
Etta-Tawo didn’t mention any schools he’s considering in his note.
