The Terrapins men’s basketball team fell four spots to No. 10, the lowest they have been ranked all season, in the latest Associated Press Poll released Monday afternoon. The Terps’ lowest ranking before Monday was No. 8 in the poll released Jan. 25.

The Terps started the season at No. 3 and were No. 2 just two weeks ago. But the Terps have lost two of their last three games.

Thursday, the Terps fell to the second-worst team in the Big Ten, Minnesota. The Golden Gophers hadn’t won a conference game all season until they beat the Terps, 68-63. It was the Terps’ second consecutive loss after a 70-57 defeat to Wisconsin on Feb. 13.

While the Terps avoided their first three-game losing streak since 2012 with a 86-82 win over Michigan on Sunday, the loss to Minnesota was the their worst defeat this season.

Saturday, the Terps travel to No. 20 Purdue. Two of the Terps’ final three regular-season games are on the road against ranked opponents. The Terps face No. 18 Indiana on March 6th.

No. 6 Michigan State and No. 8 Iowa round out the list of ranked Big Ten teams.
