Six former and current Terrapins women’s lacrosse players were selected to compete for the U.S. Women’s National Team on a foreign tour in England this summer, U.S. Lacrosse announced Thursday.

Alumnas Brooke Griffin, Katie Schwarzmann, Megan Douty and Alex Aust will be joined by current seniors Taylor Cummings and Alice Mercer. The Terps’ six players on the team’s roster are the second most from a single school behind North Carolina’s seven.

The announcement comes after Mercer and Cummings, two of four players on the national team’s roster still competing collegiately, were named first-team preseason All-Americans in December.

Cummings led the country with 100 points last season after scoring 63 goals and notching 37 assists. Mercer started all but one contest on defense in 2015.

Aust, a former Terps attacker, was a Tewaaraton Award finalist in her final season. She finished her career with 132 assists, tied for the second most in the team’s history.

Schwarzmann, a member of the 2013 national team that won a championship, was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Year in 2013. Douty was a first-team All-American and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2015.

The U.S. National Team trimmed its 36-member roster to 24 after it competed in the Team USA Spring Premiere last weekend. The team is expected to face England, Wales and Scotland this summer.
