The Terrapins men’s basketball climbed one spot in the latest Associated Press Poll to No. 3 in the country. It is the highest the Terps have been in the poll since they lost North Carolina on Dec. 1.
Kansas, Oklahoma and the Terps all moved up one spot after previous No. 1 Michigan State dropped its first game of the season at Iowa on Tuesday. The Terps are now the highest ranked Big Ten team with Michigan State checking in at No. 5.
Two other Big Ten teams are in the top-25 with Iowa at No. 19 and Purdue at No. 20.
The Terps played their first two Big Ten games this past week, earning a 70-64 comeback win over Penn State at home before dismantling Northwestern on the road Saturday.
Coach Mark Turgeon’s squad hosts Rutgers on Wednesday before travelling to Wisconsin on Saturday this week.
The Terps opened the season ranked No. 3 in the country and climbed as high as No. 2 before falling to the Tar Heels. They have not been ranked worse than No. 6 in the AP Poll in the 2015-16 campaign.
