Wide receiver Stefon Diggs attempts to break a tackle during the Terps’ 40-37 loss to West Virginia on Sept. 13, 2014, at Byrd Stadium.

Stefon Diggs didn’t waste any time showcasing his skills in his first opportunity with the Minnesota Vikings.

In his first game being active in the NFL, the former Terrapins football wide receiver led the Vikings in receiving yards. He hauled in six catches for 87 yards in a 23-20 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Diggs, who was selected in the fifth round of the NFL draft this year, was targeted 10 times by quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, matching the most of any Vikings player.

On one play when he was matched up against cornerback Aqib Talib, who is considered one of the best in the NFL at his position, Diggs sent Talib in the wrong direction with a stutter step for a 21-yard gain.
