To the university community:
On behalf of the Interfraternity Council, I would like to wish everyone a great spring semester. We welcome anyone who is looking for a home away from home to consider joining an IFC fraternity. Upon joining, you will receive an opportunity to lead your peers, a new family for your college experience and a close network of brothers to live, learn, compete and grow with for your remaining semesters.
We invite you to visit any recruitment event and find out as much as you can about the IFC and its 24 fraternities. These groups are constantly evolving and expanding, so we are certain you can find a group of men who have similar interests, values and hopes for their college experience — a fraternity you will feel is genuinely the right place for you.
Joining Greek life can add so many new experiences to one’s college life and does not have to detract from any others. No fraternity wishes to discourage academic achievement, participation in other university groups, personal life outside the organization or any other kind of student success. Ask any member of Greek life, and I’m sure he will say his fraternity constantly provides him with more than 50 brothers to help him thrive in the classroom, expand his personal and social life and even succeed on the flag football field.
The IFC looks to make recruitment, and all of its events, a safe place for potential new members and all of its guests regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or financial status. We understand how it can be difficult to enter a house or event at which dozens of people all seem to know one another, but we were all there once and would not want the fear of the unknown to stop someone who could be a great fit for a chapter from even stopping by.
So come visit IFC recruitment and find the men who one day you will likely call your best friends, roommates, groomsmen and brothers.
Best,
Paul Becker
