Wide receiver Stefon Diggs after scoring his first touchdown in the first quarter of the Terps’ 31-21 loss at West Virginia on Sept. 22, 2012.

Terrapins football coach Randy Edsall met with the media for the final time Thursday before the No. 25 Terps take on No. 8 Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla., this weekend.

Here are some news and notes that will updated during the rest of the afternoon.

– The Terps will release their first Thursday injury report of the season Thursday evening.

– For the team’s first top-25 game since 2008, the Terps will be sporting their White Ops jerseys for the first time this year. They unveiled them last September in a 31-21 loss at West Virginia.

– Edsall on practicing with crowd noise in preparation for the Doak Campbell Stadium environment: “I thought it was good. We haven’t had any really illegal procedure penalties, snapping the ball too soon or anything like that, so I’ve been pleased with that. We probably had it louder here than what they’re going to have it. I’m surprised we didn’t get a citation leveled against us for how loud it was out there. They’ve handled that well.”

– The Terps added another walk-on to the team in defensive back Michael Washington. The junior originally attended Florida International, where he wanted to walk on, but the program wasn’t taking walk-ons at the time, so he returned home. Edsall said he’s an economics major whose goal is to go to law school. He played at DeMatha for Bill McGregor.

– Tropical Storm Karen is threatening the Gulf Coast this weekend, and though it isn’t expected to make landfall until after the game, Edsall is confident it won’t have an impact on the game. He also said the Terps are fortunate to have already played a rain game against West Virginia.

– Edsall also commented on coach Paul Pasqualoni’s firing at Connecticut, his former school:

“It’s tough in the profession when you see guys get fired four games in. It’s unfortunate, but I guess that’s the way our business is now.”
