Stamp Student Union’s food court

If you’re in a rush, Stamp Student Union is a great place to stop and grab food. However, just because you are in a hurry, you don’t have to sacrifice eating healthy. Stamp does provide a lot of temptations with McDonald’s and Taco Bell, but there are healthy options hidden between the fast food choices.

A personal favorite of mine is Saladworks. You can make your own salad or have one of their specials. This way you can load up on veggies, and also control how much dressing you get. Saladworks is great because you can also choose to not have bread or any other salad toppings you might be eliminating from your diet.

Another good option would be Subway. You can either get a small sandwich or a salad. Subway has a healthy food campaign to begin with, but having a small sandwich helps you maintain good portion control and fills you up with packed-on meat and veggies.

The other healthy joint in Stamp is theMaryland Co-op, which has all natural food and the opportunity to volunteer for food credit.

If you are really in the mood for junk food, it is okay to have some every once in a while. This also follows the rules of moderation; as long as it’s not something you have every day, it’s okay to have food from the other fast food places that Stamp has to offer.

A slice of pizza from Sbarro, a taco from Taco Bell or any snack McDonald’s, Panda Express or Chick-Fil-A won’t hurt you if you have them every now and then. Diets are harder to follow when you have to completely cut out certain foods, because the temptation to eat them is so much greater. So indulge yourself every now and then, but don’t forget the wealth of health grub in Stamp.
