Tired of the bland?
Route 1 might have a lot of variety, but that’s not always the case when it comes to a gluten-free diet. Luckily, Roti is a delicious and unique Mediterranean Grill that accommodates people with allergies.
Its website has a gluten-free menu that lists out exactly what you can order. It even serves gluten free pita bread, which is $2.00 more, but definitely worth it. If you aren’t feeling adventurous to try new bread, the Roti Rice is also gluten free.
Sauces and dressings are something people usually have to worry about, but Roti has plenty of options. In fact, most of the sauces and dressings are gluten free and you don’t even have to worry about them.
Roti is great because you have the choice of making your own sandwich, plate or salad, but it also has options for you. Once you choose the base to your meal, you decide if you want chicken, steak, falafel or roasted vegetables.
Lastly, you add your sauces and toppings. The sauces are gluten free, but be carefully with the toppings because not all of them are. After you make your perfect dish, you can also get falafel or hummus on the side. That is definitely worth it because both are fantastic and would go great with your meal.
Be warned that Roti is not a gluten free-kitchen. There is a possibility of cross contamination with the regular flour products. The gluten free products will be prepared gluten free, but if you are really worried about cross contamination, you should talk to a cook before you order.
Generally, I’ve found that if you tell a server you are allergic, they will be more careful with your food preparation.
