Every week, staff writer James Crabtree-Hannigan will take a look at the careers of a number of former Maryland athletes embarking on professional careers in a variety of leagues. Every Wednesday, it’s former women’s basketball players. The stats are from games through June 20.

Kristi Toliver, Guard, Los Angeles Sparks

2016 stats: 31.2 mpg, 13.9 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 3.5 apg, 1.0 spg, 47.3 FG%

Skinny: Toliver scored 16 points, had three steals and added an assist in the Sparks’ 98-85 win over Chicago June 14. She pitched in 10 points and a pair of assists in Friday’s 77-71 victory against Phoenix, moving the Sparks to 11-0 in 2016.

Marissa Coleman, Forward, Indiana Fever

2016 stats: 30.4 mpg, 8.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.0 spg, 27.9 FG%

Skinny: Coleman, an eight-year veteran, is still trying to find her shooting stroke in 2016. Before this year, she’d never shot worse than 25 percent on 3-pointers in a season and had twice hit 40 percent of her threes. She’s made just 17.2 percent this season, though, and went 2-for-15 this week. She managed 11 points in the Fever’s lone win of the week, an 84-75 triumph over San Antonio June 17. On the week, she also grabbed nine rebounds, dished seven assists and recorded five steals.

Alyssa Thomas, Forward, Connecticut Sun

2016 stats: 23.9 mpg, 9.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.8 spg, 45.2 FG%

Skinny: Thomas has not played since June 12, when she exited due to a concussion after playing seven minutes.

Crystal Langhorne, Forward, Seattle Storm

2016 stats: 25.0 mpg, 9.2 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 0.9 apg, 0.6 spg, 64.8 FG%

Skinny: Langhorne had an inconsistent week as the Storm lost three games. Sandwiched between five-point and four-point performances was a 16-point, seven rebound burst in the Storm’s 88-79 loss to Dallas June 16. She managed one assist, steal and block to compliment her five points in a 96-84 loss to Minnesota June 19.

Brene Moseley, Guard, Indiana Fever

2016 stats: 9.6 mpg, 1.9 ppg, 0.4 rpg, 1.1 apg, 0.5 spg, 26.1 FG%

Skinny: Moseley didn’t get any minutes in three consecutive games after June 3, but returned to the floor for two minutes June 14 in an 87-63 loss to Minnesota. She missed the only shot she took — a 3-pointer — and picked up a steal. She played seven minutes against New York on June 19, scoring two points and picking up a rebound and a steal. She also committed two turnovers in the 78-75 loss.

Lynetta Kizer, Forward, Indiana Fever

2016 stats: 11.7 mpg, 6.9 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 0.3 apg, 0.6 spg, 52.3 FG%

Skinny: Kizer made an impression in limited minutes for the Fever, shooting 4-for-6 and scoring 10 points with three rebounds in 17 minutes in the loss to Minnesota June 14. Three days later, she scored 13 points on 6-for-9 shooting to pair with four rebounds in 15 minutes during the Fever’s 84-75 win over San Antonio. She also scored six points in 11 minutes in a 78-75 loss to New York.

Tianna Hawkins, Forward, Washington Mystics

2016 stats: 9.2 mpg, 4.6 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 0.5 apg, 0.3 spg, 48.8 FG%

Skinny: Hawkins scored a season-high 12 points in a season-high 16 minutes during a 95-65 drubbing of Atlanta June 18. She also tacked on six rebounds, an assist and a steal. She scored two points and had one rebound, assist and steal in the Mystics’ 109-106 win over Connecticut June 14.
