Maryland women’s basketball rose three spots to No. 7 in the Associated Press poll released Monday.
The Terps won all three of their matchups last week to extend their winning streak to seven games. Maryland beat Illinois, 80-66, on the road to start the week, returned home for a 72-57 rout of Northwestern and concluded the slate with a 62-48 thrashing of then-No. 20 Rutgers.

In beating the Scarlet Knights, Maryland improved to 22-2 overall and 11-2 in the Big Ten. The Terps are now one game clear of second-place Iowa in their quest for a fourth conference title in five campaigns.
Elsewhere in the Big Ten, three other conference teams appeared in the poll.
The Hawkeyes moved up two spots to No. 14, remaining the second-highest ranked team in the Big Ten behind Maryland. Rutgers fell three spots to No. 23 after the home loss to the Terps, and Michigan State fell one spot to No. 24.

Minnesota is the only other conference foe receiving votes.
The Terps also announced a two-year series with UConn last week, beginning with a road trip to Connecticut during the 2020-21 season and ending with a return bout in College Park the following year.
Maryland is winless in seven prior meetings with UConn, and in 2016 — the last time the teams met at the Xfinity Center — a sellout crowd of 17,950 watched the top-ranked Huskies beat the Terps, 87-81.
