Prince George’s County Police are investigating an off-campus robbery with a weapon that reportedly occurred Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred Monday at about 4 p.m., according to a UMD Alert, at a house on the 4500 block of Guilford Road, in south College Park near Paisano’s Pizza. Three University of Maryland students, as well as two people unaffiliated with this university, were inside the house when they asked an acquaintance to come by, but he couldn’t come and said that someone else would meet them, the alert read.
The suspect, an unidentified male, came to the building and showed a handgun. When one of the victims tried to defend the group, they were struck in the head with the gun, the alert added, before the male stole property and left.
The incident occurred Monday and was not reported until Tuesday, more than 24 hours after it happened, the alert read. It was a targeted crime.
