Coach Daria Panova sits with her team during the Terps’ victory over George Washington on Jan. 26, 2014.

The Terrapins tennis team fell to No. 15 Clemson, 7-0, Friday to open a four-match homestand and remain without a victory against a ranked team this season.

Clemson featured four doubles pairings ranked by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The Terps fell behind early 1-0 after dropping the doubles point off losses from Welma Luus and Kristina Hovsepyan as well as Alexandra Stanova and Olivia Gaudrealt. Stanova and Gaudrealt have not won in doubles since February 7 against Old Dominion.

In singles, Gaudrealt reappeared at the No. 6 in the lineup. She had not participated in singles in three of the past four matches after Olga Gaistruk’s return from injury bumped her out despite her strong play to begin the year. However, she lost in straight sets against Joana Eidukonyte on Friday night.

Nataliya Bredikhina suffered her second straight loss since her promotion to No. 3 singles.

The Tigers’ Yana Koroleva beat Stanova, extending her losing streak to seven straight matches.

The Terps will play No. 20 Georgia Tech on Sunday.
